Improving access to drinking water and sanitation in the Nam Khan 1 catchment area

Objectives

Meet the primary needs of the people living in the Nam Khan catchment area by facilitating sustainable access to a quality water supply and improving hygiene conditions.

The project has three specific objectives:
  • Equip the beneficiary villages with drinking water supply systems and community latrines
  • Involve communities in the construction, management, and maintenance of the water supply systems
  • Raise hygiene awareness among rural populations.
Expected results
  • 13 gravity-fed water systems built
  • 4,000 people with secure access to water
  • 13 village water committees set up and 65 committee members trained
  • 557 latrines built
  • 26 hygiene advisors trained and 4,000 people sensitized on hygiene issues
